ABOUT US

The carefully preserved historic cottage, once home to the town’s postmasters, has been a main street feature of Arrowtown since the 1860s.  The Postmasters restaurant Arrowtown is now a popular café, bar and restaurant surrounded by beautiful gardens. Diners are warmly welcomed by our friendly and efficient staff into the cosy interior. Outside the verandah is a stunning spot for al fresco dining or just relaxing with a drink whilst soaking up the sun. The seasonal menu features fresh flavours, top quality local produce, and Central Otago wines which showcase the best of this famous wine-making region. Dietary requirements are taken care of with a great choice of gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options as well as a kids menu.

FOOD & DRINK

Owner/chef, Sam Laycock has created a diverse menu at The Postmasters restaurant Arrowtown. He has placed a strong emphasis on fresh seasonal flavours, top quality local produce, and a nod to international influences. “Good food, done simply and well, is hard to beat.  I like to bring three key ingredients together to create a dish which showcases fresh seasonal flavours and makes people want come back and order it again and again,” Sam says.

Dishes are perfectly complemented by a stunning wine list, created by co-owner Maria Kealy, featuring a range of Central Otago’s best as well as international wines.  After working in restaurants, vineyards, wineries and wine retail stores around the world, she believes New Zealand, and Central Otago in particular, is a goldmine for wine lovers.
